Where Do You Learn? - The #blimage Challenge

Do you learn in the shower? No. That’s where thinking gets done. How about in your car on the way to work or school? If you take a bus or other mode of transport, perhaps that’s when you choose to learn.

But is it really learning just because you are listening to something?

When does learning occur?
  • When you are using what you “learned”.
  • When you can put the words and thoughts into action.
  • When you can make mistakes and solve problems.
  • When you are challenged.

(I invite you to add to this list in the comments below. These are just some I came up with while writing this brief post.)

Learning is a give and take activity. Take what you have “learned” and transform it into something others can see or touch or feel. Share what you learn with others.

It is impossible to teach anyone anything. But they can learn a lot from you. I can’t recall where I first heard this but I think about it every time I’m in a position to “teach” anyone anything.

Thank you if you took the time to read my first #blimage challenge! The image that inspired this post is from a #blimage post by Enoch Hale, “Spelunking Education”.

"This is the blimage (blog image) challenge: Use an image above sent to you and “incorporate it into your blog, and write a post about learning based on it…See what you can make of it! (Then pass an image of your choice on to someone else so they can do their own #blimage challenge).” Read about the original idea here."

  1. Karen - Love the quote, love the picture! When does learning occur? When you open your mind to let it in. Then opportunity creates experiences when then creates a learning moment. (I think a blog is born!) Thanks for the inspiration!
